Wedding Invitation Color Trend : Mint Green

It’s fresh, it’s soft, and it’s one of the hottest color trends in stationery. Mint green pairs perfectly with neutrals like bold black, charcoal gray, and warm brown in so many different invitation styles. The versatile hue can be combined with elegant script and ornate ornament for an ultra upscale look, but it’s equally at home when paired with sleek, mid-century style typography and pattern. Check out these lovely (and minty) invitations to see just how cool, both literally and figuratively, mint green can be.

Bella Figura 2013 Wedding Invitation Collection

Modern Dot Letterpress Wedding Invitations by Erin Jang

I’m a little bit giddy because it’s that time of year again, time for the introduction of oodles and oodles of gorgeous new wedding invitation designs and collections. I’m always excited to see what new and established trends will be represented and, well, I just love pretty invitations and look forward to seeing what both my favorite and new-to-me stationers are creating.

Bella Figura recently launched their new wedding collection, and I’ve been lost among the beautiful designs for the past few days. Styles range from the upscale, Jazz Age-inspired Fitzgerald by Ellie Snow to the oh so romantic Mae by Ian Koenig and the ultra cool Modern Dot by Erin Jang (shown above). Gorgeous, typographic designs and pretty pattern are well represented in the collection, which also features a nice dose of shimmery, foil stamped goodness.

Meghan + Ben’s Romantic, Nostalgic Wedding Invitations

Romantic Vintage Inspired Wedding Invitations

This utterly gorgeous, custom wedding invitation suite comes to us from Coral Pheasant, who created the beautiful suite for Meghan and Ben’s summer Long Island wedding. I’m completely crushing on pretty much everything about this suite, from the fantastic typography to the soft, romantic color palette, amazing floral details, and vintage map postcard RSVP cards. Mmm, swoon…

Coral Pheasant Custom Wedding Invitations

Nichole from Coral Pheasant shares:

Meghan and Ben were married on Long Island this summer, and the wedding they put together was a romantic and nostalgic affair. The paper story uses a large, narrow sans serif font for a touch of modernity and is combined with delicate and flourished lines and to bring in softness. It was important to Meghan and Ben to incorporate a map and a postcard feel given their many travels over the course of their relationship and the written correspondence that resulted. I found a vintage map of Long Island, altered the colors to fit their wedding palette, and designed the back of the map and the RSVP card in a manner reminiscent of old postcards. The floral envelope liner is a nod to the flowers they chose for their wedding. The main invitation was letterpress printed on Crane’s Lettra, and the additional cards and envelopes were flat printed.

As a surprise for Meghan, Ben secretly reached out to Nichole to design a coordinating card for her that revealed a special, romantic weekend complete with a hot air balloon ride. The special moment was beautifully captured by Robert and Kathleen Photographers when Megan opened the card on their wedding day:

East Meets West Letterpress Wedding Invitations

East Meets West Letterpress Wedding Invitations

It was crush at first sight when I spotted this beautiful letterpress wedding invitation package over at FPO recently. The gorgeous, gray and white suite was inspired by the Chinese character, 王,which stands for both the bride and groom’s last names, and the design is a visual blend of the couple’s “eastern descent and upbringing” and their westernized lifestyle.

The Chinese character was used to create the pattern on the front of the wedding invitation card and sets a modern, east-meets-west tone, inspiring complimentary patterns featured throughout the suite. A whimsical, script typeface adds a touch of playfulness here and there and is a nice compliment to the straightforward, sans-serif face featured throughout the suite. Head over to FPO to find out much more and to see additional photos of this beautiful, modern wedding suite.

Carrie + Derek’s Sweet Woodgrain Wedding Suite

Sweet Woodgrain Wedding Invitations

This darling wedding invitation suite comes to us from Carrie Truslow of Pink Toast Ink, who also happened to be the bride. I love it when designers create their own wedding invitations and save the dates!

Tree Save the Date Cards

Carrie used a number of techniques throughout this unique suite. She hand illustrated a tree in her backyard to include on the save the date cards, plus she incorporated rubber stamping (using both pre-made and custom stamps) and heat embossing throughout the suite. She also dry-pressed a woodgrain texture into heavy white cardstock for the wedding invitation and lined the kraft invitation envelopes with sweet little doilies. This project was undoubtedly a labor of love, and the result looks like it was a perfect fit for Carrie + Derek’s big day!

Bow Tie Birth Announcements

Bow Tie Birth Announcements by Palm Papers

I have a real soft spot for cute birth announcements, not to mention the soft spot that I have for cute babies, and these custom announcements by Palm Papers are absolutely precious. Little Ryder is pretty darn adorable, too!

Lauren from Palm Papers shares:

Nothing is more fun than giving the gift of design. I am at that stage in life where there is a baby boom happening among our friends and family. We have lots of friends welcoming their first child (and sometimes second), and my favorite thing to do for them is to design their birth announcements. This little cutie, Ryder, is the first son of some good friends of ours from Denver, and he made my job easy, quite frankly. That little face steals the show, but I balanced the sweet black and white photo with an adorable little bow tie, fun stripes, and a mustard and grey color palette. I loved how they turned out and so did his proud parents. Gift giving success!
