Nautical Wedding Invitations

The nautical-themed wedding trend shows no signs of slowing, and it’s no surprise. Nautical themes are perfect for weddings by the sea, and there are endless numbers of gorgeous wedding destinations that feature sun, sand, and shore. Nautical themes are incredibly versatile, too. You’ll find everything from sophisticated and preppy to whimsical and modern, anchor and rope motifs to more understated, blind debossed nautical maps, flags, and compass details. And while there are many shades of blue to be found in the palettes of these pretty invites – traditional navy, muted slate, and pale seafoam, to name but a few – you can also find complimentary colors like warm red, kelly green, and sunny yellow.

Minted Letterpress Wedding Invitations

If you love letterpress, then get ready to do some ogling because Minted recently launched their first ever collection of letterpress wedding invitations, and it’s absolutely beautiful. The crush-worthy collection includes 29 designs from the Minted wedding collection, now available in gorgeous letterpress form.

Each invite is printed on vintage Heidelberg Windmill presses, and extensive customization choices are available, including 25 font options, 2 -a -er types, and up to 3-color letterpress printing. Uschi & Kay Printable Wedding Invitations

Ooh, I love it when creatives collaborate! These completely crush-worthy printable wedding invites are the product of a collaboration between Gaelan of the Canadian wedding blog, Uschi & Kay, and Sam of Have & Hold Design, who have come together to launch the Uschi & Kay shop, a resource for modern, crafty brides and grooms looking for unique products to personalize their wedding.

Their pretty printable wedding suites were created to give budget-conscious couples beautifully designed invitations that they can print at home for a fraction of the cost of traditional wedding invitations. They have five modern designs to choose from, and they plan on regularly adding new designs to their lineup. In addition, they offer bespoke design services and customization options on all of the suites in the Uschi & Kay shop.

Berlyn’s Sweet Woodland Baby Shower Invitations

It was crush at first sight when these lovely woodland baby shower invitations for baby Berlyn by Moira Design Studio popped up in my inbox recently. The whimsical floral illustrations and hand-lettering create a look that’s light and sweet, and the hand stamped wood invitations make my invitation-loving heart go pitter pat.

Jessi from Moira Design Studio shares about this wonderfully unique project:

The shower theme was woodland, organic, and natural, so we wanted to keep the invitation along those same lines. I really wanted to incorporate wood, so we started with a custom rubber stamp that we hand lettered and illustrated and used that to stamp on wood. There were two additional inserts – the first with her registry information on it, and the second was a bookplate to put inside the book that each guest was asked to bring in lieu of a card.

Each of the additional pieces feature hand illustrated work and are printed front and back on lovely thick cotton letterpress paper. The suite was wrapped in matching printed vellum, bound together with an open weave burlap, tied again with moss green satin ribbon, and topped with a miniature (I love anything that comes in mini!) clothespin and a little matching sign that read “please join us”. The entire suite was tucked into a brown kraft box and sealed with a wrap around label. A darling suite for a darling mom-to-be!

Today’s invitation crush comes to us courtesy of AlleRuth Design, an Indiana-based paper goods and letterpress studio that recently released their lovely 2013 wedding invitation collection. Styles in this beautiful collection are a wonderful mix of modern motifs and timeless classics, including the totally on trend geometric Kara suite (above), as well as the whimsical and romantic Roberta (below, top left), a mix of original calligraphy and wonderful floral pattern. The sophisticated Milady (below, bottom left), a sleek typographic wedding suite, is perfect for modern type-loving couples, while Berkeley (below, bottom right) suite features wonderful watercolor florals and charming details that give the pieces a handmade feel.

Watercolor Wedding Invitations by Fine Day Press

I’m starting off the week on a completely crush-worthy note with Fine Day Press’ new Watercolor Wedding Collection, which includes eight beautiful, textured watercolor styles that range from the swash-y, dynamic Brushstroke (above) to ombre to pretty petals and blooms. Each design in the collection features fantastic typography, and the invites are printed on thick 100% cotton cardstock for a look that’s luxe and so very modern.

Laser Cut Pebble Wedding Invitations

A well-placed laser cut detail can completely transform any invitation, and I am totally crushing on these ultra modern wedding invites by Luscious Verde, which feature an awesome laser cut pebble pattern that takes the entire suite to another level. The pebble-y belly band adds depth and texture to this lovely typographic suite, and the pebble pattern is echoed against a soft, watercolor background in the gorgeous patterned envelope liners for a look that is a little bit nature and so very modern.

Modern Hand Engraved Wedding Invitations by Crane & Co.

In the past, I’ve often gushed about the fantastic feel and texture of letterpress, but engraved wedding invitations have an equally distinct and incredible texture, with raised lettering and design that just beckons to be touched. Crane & Co. has brought the classic printing technique into the 21st century with their beautiful, hand engraved wedding invitation designs, which feature playful, modern typography and motifs, as well as classic elegance with a modern twist. Oh, I so wish that I could reach through the computer screen and run my fingers over these gorgeous invites!
