These oh so sweet letterpress wedding invitations by Lion in the Sun for Caitlin and Joseph’s July wedding show that the classic black and white palette can also look wonderful in a whimsical light. Playful, hand drawn motifs like mason jars and horseshoes are the perfect compliment to sweet typography and hand drawn, woodgrain patterned envelope liners that bring a bit of a rustic touch to a wedding suite that evokes nostalgic memories of summer days and nights spent playing in nature.

I crushed on Bow & Arrow’s beautiful wedding invitations for the first time earlier this year, and the crush continues with their newest bunch of lovely, modern wedding invite designs. The new invitations feature more of the stylish, mid-century flair that never fails to catch my eye, and the typography-centric styles range from preppy and patterned to pretty, vintage poster style suites. Laser Cut London Olympics Invitations

I don’t tend to feature many “corporate” invitations, but I think you’ll agree that this is not your typical, run of the mill corporate invite. The unique Hilton Worldwide VIP invitation for the London Olympics was created by Artifacture, a Dallas-based design studio that specializes in laser cutting.

The folding invitation features a layered representation of the London skyline, and each layer unfolds to reveal the details and information contained within. I love the level of detail on each laser cut monument, from the London Eye to the Tower Bridge and Olympic Stadium.

Modern Patterned Letterpress Wedding Invites

I was doing a little Etsy browsing when I spotted today’s crush, the beautiful Danielle wedding invitation suite by Mink Letterpress. The simple, modern pattern echoed throughout the suite becomes all the more crush-worthy when letterpressed. Man, I really wish I could reach through my computer screen and feel that luscious letterpress texture. Clean, modern typography compliments the pattern in a wonderful way, as do the coordinating tags and address labels. I’m really digging the golden yellow and chocolate brown color palette, too.

Kristin + Gregory’s Evergreen Wedding Invitations

This custom letterpress wedding invitation suite, designed by Laura Macchia and printed by May Day Studio, is simply perfect for a couple who loves the outdoors, and Kristin and Gregory do. The lush, wooded landscape of Stowe, Vermont, where the couple calls home and, more specifically, Mt. Mansfield, the highest peak in the Green Mountains, served as inspiration for the evergreen studded suite, which features clean, modern typography that serves as a wonderful compliment to these stylish, woodsy invites.

Sarah + Tim’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Wedding Invites

Jenn Lane shows us just how un-boring wedding invitations can be with this crush-worthy, custom suite that she designed for Sarah and Tim’s April wedding. The rich magenta, vivid orange, black, and white suite is a feast for the eyes, with a totally rock ‘n’ roll winged emblem that appears throughout the suite and a bevy of awesome, custom icons that decorate both the invitation and on the super cool wedding map. If you weren’t ready to rock before laying your eyes upon these invites, then you’ve gotta be ready to rock now!

Unique Illustrated Letterpress Birth Announcements

I am in awe of these unique and absolutely stunning, illustrated letterpress birth announcements from ColorQuarry, a Rhode Island-based studio founded by illustrator and RISD graduate, Amanda McCorkle, who has worked for clients ranging from the corporate, publishing, and automotive industries to children’s, arts, and maritime museums. These amazing announcements feature imagery specific to the client, with themes that include woodland, ocean, circus, and celestial and illustrations that evoke a spirit of wonder and adventure.

Each birth announcement is letterpress printed by hand onto Crane Lettra paper to create what will certainly become paper keepsakes for each lucky recipient.
