Black & White Invitations for a Wales Wedding

Mr. Boddington certainly has a way with the wedding invitation design, and this lovely black and white wedding invitation suite for Katherine and Robert was a perfect fit for their quirky and clever wedding in Wales. One of my favorite details from the suite is the map, which directs guests to the oldest antiquary bookshop in town, but I’m also delighted by the patterns that show up in everything from the envelope liners to backdrops for the seating cards.

Elegant Grey & White Letterpress Wedding Invitations

Grey White Letterpress Wedding Invitations

I spotted these gorgeous letterpress wedding invitations a little while back on the Flickr photostream of Chris Hannah, the groom and designer of the ultra modern, elegant invites, and it was crush at first sight. While I love bright, bold color in invitations, I’ve also discovered that I have a weakness for monochromatic designs, especially when they’re as well done as this. The white/grey duplex paper, the symbols that thread throughout the suite, the sophisticated script font – everything about these invitations is simply lovely. Letterpress printing was done by Blush, a fantastic UK based letterpress printing studio.

Gracie Lee + Andrew’s Modern NYC Themed Invitations

Black and White Wedding Invitations NYC

There was definitely some serendipity at work during the creation of this chic, New York City-inspired wedding invitation suite. We Heart Paper designed these beautiful, modern invites for Gracie Lee and Andrew. Gracie Lee is originally from Georgia and moved to NYC three years ago when Andrew was offered a job there, and he took the opportunity to propose on a romantic hot air balloon ride during a trip back to Georgia to visit Gracie Lee’s family. That is so sweet!

The couple wanted their wedding to be a reflection of their life in New York, and Janie from We Heart Paper designed this sleek, gorgeous black and white NYC-themed suite to incorporate the city skyline and a typographic “NYC” element that includes the couple’s wedding date in an oh so clever way. A New Year’s wedding in New York City sounds like so much fun!

Originally, Gracie Lee wanted to incorporate a hot air balloon element into the invitation design, and when she decided that it might detract from her vision for a clean, modern invite suite, Janie serendipitously discovered bright, colorful hot air balloon stamps for the envelopes. How perfect is that?

You can order a sample of this suite for the We Heart Paper shop.

Elegant Black and White Letterpress Wedding Invites

Oh, how I’m crushing on these ultra elegant, black and white letterpress wedding invitations, printed by Cleanwash Letterpress and designed by Chick Invitations for Leeron and Matthew. The classically beautiful type in bold black against a luxe white background truly makes these invites a standout, and I love the little lovebird graphic on the reply card. So sweet and unexpected, and they give the invitations just a touch of whimsy.

Black and White Wedding Invites : Bespoke Press

Black and white wedding invitations make such a bold statement, and I’m absolutely loving the pattern and typography on these black and white letterpress invitations for Kerry and Thomas by Brisbane, Australia’s Bespoke Press. The couple wanted their invites to have a relaxed, yet sophisticated design inspired by tropical beach living, and I love that black and white were the chosen colors because it’s so unexpected for a beach wedding.

The patterned background was inspired by beach cane furniture, and the intricate, geometric shapes are modern and give the entire suite wonderful visual impact. The modern pattern is echoed in reverse in the envelope liners.
