Modern Lace Letterpress Wedding Invitations

Modern Lace Letterpress Wedding Invitations

Today’s lovely, lacy invitation crush comes to us from Margaux Fraise of Harmony Creative Studio, whose concept for her own wedding invites, a modern take on a vintage lace design, was translated beautifully by Shayna from Steel Petal Press, who designed and printed the gorgeous gray and peach letterpress wedding invites. Details like the textural, blind debossed lace designs, vintage postage stamps, unexpected vertical envelope orientation, and playful vintage Los Angeles save the date turned RSVP card make this beautiful suite a true standout.

Letterpress Lace Wedding Invites

Margaux shares:

When I started designing my own wedding, I had a very clear vision: ‘Modern Vintage’. I had dreams of lace, kraft paper, and vintage elements with a modern twist.

We held our wedding at the electric Smog Shoppe here in our hometown of Los Angeles, but the bulk of our guests are my husband’s large family from Iowa. I wanted to incorporate a vintage Los Angeles postcard with the invitation suite and decided to take what is normally a cute save the date and turn it into the RSVP card. Ginger from Serendipity Beyond Design was able to customize the original colors (blue and orange) in the Los Angeles postcard to our soft color palette of mint green, peach, and grey.

As an event designer, I love to come up with concepts but often a great graphic designer takes my ideas to a whole new level! I sent Shayna from Steel Petal Press a photo of a concept for the main invitation, incorporating a geometric lace pattern, and she was able to turn my vision into beautiful reality with a design that incorporates blind debossed elements. We incorporated the geometric lace theme throughout the wedding, using it as a backdrop for our candy buffet and in other decorative elements.

I had only ever come across one example of people turning the envelope vertically, and I fell in love. It was a perfect way to showcase the vintage stamps I had been collecting since getting engaged.

Paul & Becky’s Modern Coral + Gray Wedding Invitations

Paul & Becky's Modern Coral + Gray Wedding Invitations

This beautiful letterpress wedding invitation suite has a romantic, modern aesthetic that makes my invitation-loving heart go pitter pat. Designed by Becky King (the bride), a Boston-based web designer, this project was a labor of love that allowed her to bring into play her background in traditional print. The result is a wedding invitation suite that features wonderful details like the gorgeous, blind debossed lace-like pattern, which brings together vintage inspiration with clean, moderns style, and a warm and inviting coral + gray color palette.

The sweet photo save the dates feature photography by wedding photographer, Katie Slater, as does their lovely wedding website, designed by Becky and developed by Paul, a software engineer.

Romantic Rustic Wedding Invitations

Romantic Rustic Letterpress Wedding Invitations

I am completely crushing on this beautiful letterpress wedding invitation suite from Jupiter and Juno. The undeniably romantic invites feature shimmery metallic blush ink on kraft stock for a look that’s a little bit rustic and so very lovely.

This invitation suite was designed by Jupiter and Juno’s staff designer, Jessi, for a client who was having a wedding with a rustic theme and pink accents. Metallic pink envelopes echo the metallic blush ink on the invitation pieces and create depth, interest, and a subtle yet eye-catching shimmer in the finished suite. The client also provided a beautiful floral pattern that she had selected for invitation liners. Invitations were printed on 270 gsm Stonehenge Kraft paper, and all printing was done in house on Jupiter and Juno’s 1950s Heidelberg Windmill Blackball press. The finished suite was tied with adorable pink and white baker’s twine to complete the look.

The suite has been dubbed ADELE and is now available for purchase in the Jupiter and Juno shop. Lucky brides and grooms who are interested in this suite can find a great discount offer that’s going on right now (for a limited time), too!
