Laura + Giuseppe’s Laser Cut “Chalkboard” Wedding Invitations

Laser Cut Chalkboard Wedding Invitations

Today’s invitation crush comes to us from Silvia Lana of Iciban, a Verona, Italy-based wedding and party design studio. Silvia created these clever, keepsake wedding invitations using a chalkboard style graphic printed onto a birch wood tablet, and the trompe l’oeil effect of the graphic gives the invitation the appearance of an actual chalkboard. Pretty cool, right? In addition, the couple’s wedding date was laser cut into the birch wood, giving this keepsake piece additional texture and visual interest.

The illustration of happy couple riding on a scooter, which appears on a number of pieces in the suite, was created by the sister of the bride and adds an element of carefree playfulness. Coordinating tags and belly bands were printed on Fedrigoni Constellation Snow stock, which adds another layer of texture to this unique wedding suite.

Unique Vintage Fabric Swatch Wedding Invitations

Unique Vintage Fabric Swatch Wedding Invitations

Today I’m crushing on these wonderfully unique wedding invitations, designed by Good Job Creative for Martin and Sarah’s big day. The letterpress printed invitations were designed in the style of a 1950s fabric sample card and feature the wedding information on the right half of the card and a space for a fabric sample on the left. Accompanying each invitation is a digitally printed, retro style info sheet with reception details and a link to the couple’s wedding website.

I love how the different style, vintage fabric swatches give each invitation its own, unique feel. This is such a great concept, and the resulting invitations undoubtedly engaged every invited guest. I’d guess that quite a few people are saving these beauties as keepsakes.

Unique Photo Save the Dates

I suppose the title of this post, “Unique Photo Save the Dates”, is a little redundant because save the date cards are already pretty unique. I mean, they have your photo on them, and no one else can have the same one, unless there’s some sort of dopplegänger action going on. Not impossible, but very unlikely.

Anywho, photo save the dates are a great choice because you have something unique from the start, but having an amazing photographer, designer, and/or concept can take your save the date design to the next level, making your invited guests wait with bated breath for what will surely be equally amazing invitations. And these save the dates, my invitation-loving friends, will do just that.

Woodland Papercuts Wedding Invitations

Unique Papercut Wedding Invitations

It’s been a little while since I featured some of the lovely wedding invitations that are included in the Wedding Invitation Ideas lookbook (and, psst, be sure to check it out if you’re looking for fabulous wedding invites or save the dates), and these gorgeous papercut wedding invitations by Naomi Shiek (featured on page 63) are absolutely stunning.

Every individual invitation is hand-traced and hand-cut upon ordering, so each of your guests will receive an invitation that’s unique, and I have a feeling that many will be framing them as the works of art that they are.

Unique Wine Stain + Cork Save the Dates

Unique Wine Stain + Cork Save the Dates

“It’s more than a crush.” While the sentiment at the top of these awesome save the dates may not have been intended as an expression of my feelings, it’s certainly fitting because I think that I may be in love with them. I mean, c’mon, how could I not fall in love with something so amazing?

The ladies at Three Little Words designed this wonderfully unique save the date for Emily (one half of the Three Little Words crew) and her fiancee, Rocky’s, upcoming Napa winery wedding, and the result is a little bit rustic, a little bit whimsical, and totally genius!

Wine Stain Save the Date

The save the date “cards” are actually cork shelf liner cut to size and screen printed in white ink. Talk about great texture! And Lady Rene always adds a bit of sweet romance, perfect for such a unique save the date.

Wine Stain Seal Project

One of my favorite details has to be the wine-stained “seals” on the envelopes, which were each created by hand. Any crafty project that involves a glass of wine has got to be fun, right?
