2017 Holiday Card Trends : Blue Christmas Cards

Being blue isn’t necessarily a bad thing, especially when blue looks like these beautiful blue Christmas cards. Rich teal blue, navy blue, and cobalt blue are some of the hottest colors in 2017 holiday card trends, and these gorgeous hues are on display in a big way in this collection, which I’m calling “Blue Christmas”.

Blue is a wonderful color choice for Christmas and holiday cards, as it signifies a cold and frosty time of the year (for us in the Northern Hemisphere, at least), a time when deep, dark, starry skies come early in the day. These deep, navy blue, dark teal, and cobalt tones are often paired with bright whites and gold or silver foil (or glitter foil), colors that can represent snow, which brings a delicate sparkle to everything it touches.

Blue Christmas cards are also an excellent choice for non-Christmas holidays and, depending on the sentiment, can work wonderfully for Hanukkah or even New Year.

Among these beauties, you’ll see some of the other hot trends in holiday cards this year, including painterly botanicals, dynamic hand lettering, watercolor textures, and foil stamping, all of which continue to be big trends in the larger world of paper goods and stationery.

Modern Love Story Wedding Invitations

Today’s super sweet invitation crush comes to us from Renee Nicole Design, which launched just this past May and already has a lovely collection of wedding invitation sets and holiday party invites available. The Modern Love Story wedding suite is right up my chevron-loving alley, showcasing whimsical typography with mid-century touches and darling heart and banner motifs. I’m really digging the belly band detail, which features a heart monogram and adds a sweet something to the entire suite, as well as the gorgeous gray and minty teal color palette. But the palette can be customized to your needs, so no worries if gray and minty teal aren’t your thing.

Kristen + Loren’s Infographic Wedding Invitations

Oh, my. Who knew that infographics could be so romantic? Loren Klein, designer and groom, certainly did. He incorporated charts, graphs, and venn diagrams into his and Kristen’s unique wedding invitation suite to share their story and to invite lucky guests to their wedding celebration.

The teal and red color palette and mid-century style type give this amazing suite a retro modern feel, and I love the deeply colored, overprinted areas in the venn diagram elements, not to mention the custom venn diagram monogram rubber stamp used on the envelopes.

This gorgeous letterpress wedding suite by Dingbat Press is absolutely perfect for a fall celebration, and I’m totally crushing on the unexpected color palette of peacock blue and rust orange, which is vibrant, yet autumnal at the same time. Jennifer and Cristina’s letterpress wedding suite also included lovely details (I mean, besides the beautiful design itself), like escort cards paired with a sweet, die cut pouch.

Elliot’s Adorable Birth Announcements

There is a massive amount of cute going on in these adorable teal and yellow letterpress birth announcements (with oh so cute coordinating envelope liners) for Elliot, the newest addition to the Hello! Lucky family. First of all, Elliot is a total darling, isn’t he? And his sweet little baby face is surrounded by adorable letterpressed illustrations by the amazing Anna Hurley, which are the perfect compliment to his sweet photo. Welcome to the world, little one.
