Minted Wedding Invitations 2014 : Art Deco-ish

I’m wrapping up my picks from Minted’s 2014 wedding invitation collection with my favorite Art Deco-inspired designs. I am completely enamored with Art Deco design, and these invites blend Deco’s trademark bursts, flourishes, and patterns with a modern aesthetic that’s totally crushtastic. This collection also includes one of the hottest color combos going on right now : blush pink // black // gold // warm white. Love it!

Cute Pink Letterpress Birth Announcements

Cute Pink Letterpress birth Announcements

Alex Liebold wanted his daughter’s birth announcement to be cute and appropriately girly but no too frilly, and I think that he hit the nail on the head with this incredibly sweet, pink announcement that features awesome typography – love the swirly, scalloped “ELISE” – a striped, scalloped frame, and fantastic letterpress printing by Rise and Shine Paper. Ooh, and the pink edge painting is pretty darn lovely, too.

Lachlan + Elizabeth’s Modern Typography Invitations

Modern Typography Wedding Invitations

Oh, Bespoke Press, you’ve done it again. This letterpress wedding invitation suite, designed for Lachlan and Elizabeth’s special day, exudes elegance and sophistication. The couple chose a strong, typographic design with much white space, which gives the suite a beautiful, airy quality, and the thin, slab-serif typeface is a perfect choice for letterpress printing. Just look at the fantastic texture created by the impression.

This lovely suite included invitations, gift cards, picnic cards, and reply cards and was printed on 100% cotton ivory paper with warm, summer-y pink ink.

Kate + Nick’s Anchor Wedding Invitations

Anchor Letterpress Wedding Invitations

It was crush at first sight the moment I spotted Kate + Nick’s sweet wedding invites over at FPO recently. The pink, gold, and gray color palette is wonderful, and the heart and anchor emblem that ties together all of the pieces in the suite is a little bit nautical and very romantic (as a musician, Nick used to travel regularly, and he called Kate his “anchor”). Additional pieces in the suite, including event “tickets” and “all access passes”, are also a nod to the groom’s profession.

One of my favorite things about this suite, besides the awesome design, is that a mix of printing techniques was used to keep the overall cost down. The main invitation card was beautifully letterpress printed by Spoon and Sailor and, keeping budget in mind, additional pieces were printed on a home laser printer. Tickets were perforated at a local copy shop.

Pink + Brown Chipboard Save the Dates

Pink + Brown Chipboard Save the Dates

My heart skipped a beat as soon as these lovelies appeared in my feed reader last week, and I don’t think that I have to tell you why. But I will, anyway. These completely amazing letterpress save the date cards were designed by Mae Mae Paperie for Megan, a bride who had a clear vision of what she wanted, and what she wanted was divine.

One side of the double-sided design features lyrics from “Georgia On My Mind”, with details for the Georgia wedding on the reverse, letterpress printed on “dangerously thick chipboard” in pink and brown ink. Details like an antlered heart emblem, gorgeous patterned border detail, pink edge painting (love!), and touches of metallic gold foil on the envelopes (double love!) make this a save the date utterly unforgettable.

Becca + George’s Rhode Island Beach Wedding Invitations

Beach Wedding Letterpress Invitations

Ooh, I’m totally crushing on this soft and romantic beach wedding invitation suite that Parrott Design Studio created for Becca and George’s June wedding. The rich navy silhouette illustrations that feature throughout the suite are evocative of the Rhode Island beach town where the couple is getting married, and the seagull patterned envelopes bring a playful touch, perfect for the fun & casual day that Becca and George have planned.

The pink reply cards are one of my favorite details. First, the combination of pink and navy – love! The use of pale pink stock is unexpected, yet it fits so wonderfully with the navy and green in the rest of the pieces in the suite.
