Indigo Blue Wedding Invitation Ideas

It’s an inky indigo kind of week for me, as I cover this hot color trend in stationery and paper goods over on Paper Crave and share these beautiful, deep blue wedding invitations ideas with you here today.

I am completely smitten with this color trend and love to see the different ways in which designers include rich and gorgeous shades of indigo in their beautiful wedding invitation designs. You’ll find everything from solid backgrounds with subtle, textured effects to designs with wonderful, watercolor effects to gorgeous invites that combine indigo with another hot color trend, metallic gold. Minted Wedding Invitations 2014 : Typography Plus

Minted recently launched their new collection of wedding invitations for 2014, and over the next few days I’ll be highlighting my favorite trends from the new collection. I’ve already given a shout out to a few of my gold foil favorites, and you’ll definitely be seeing more shimmery, shiny goodness this week, so stay tuned for oodles of crush-worthy invitation designs!

First up is what I’m calling the “Typography Plus” trend. These designs feature beautiful typography front and center, but they each have a little something extra that takes them to the next level:

Gold + Silver Foil Duplex Wedding Invites

Sandy Picco, the very talented designer behind The Occasional Hello, recently launched a new collection of wedding invitations and, wowsa, is this collection filled with crushable designs!

Sandy has a passion for design, typography, and beautiful paper, and this completely shows through in her gorgeous designs, which are so very modern but which also contain touches of the classic and traditional. These designs are fresh, clean, and typographic, with motifs that range from whimsical and woodsy to ornate to nautical.

All designs in The Occasional Hello wedding collection are offered in both digital and letterpress print options, and Sandy loves and welcomes custom design requests, working one-on-one with each and every couple.

Preppy Modern Wedding Invites by Chelsey Emery

Boston area architect turned graphic designer, Chelsey Emery, recently released her new wedding invitation collection, which includes 20 suites designed in her classic elegance meets modern preppy style. Each suite features a distinct blend of modern classic + whimsical typography, along with wonderful, eye-catching color and pattern (hello, lovely patterned envelope liners!), from the fiery, hot pink Clara Suite (above) to the soft, minty Olivia Suite (below).

Letterpress printing and flat printing are available, and all invitations are printed on thick, 100% cotton paper, which gives the invitations a wonderfully luxurious feel. All color, pattern, and font modifications are included and welcomed, to make each invitation a perfect fit with a couple’s unique wedding celebration. Bella Figura 2013 Wedding Invitation Collection

I’m a little bit giddy because it’s that time of year again, time for the introduction of oodles and oodles of gorgeous new wedding invitation designs and collections. I’m always excited to see what new and established trends will be represented and, well, I just love pretty invitations and look forward to seeing what both my favorite and new-to-me stationers are creating.

Bella Figura recently launched their new wedding collection, and I’ve been lost among the beautiful designs for the past few days. Styles range from the upscale, Jazz Age-inspired Fitzgerald by Ellie Snow to the oh so romantic Mae by Ian Koenig and the ultra cool Modern Dot by Erin Jang (shown above). Gorgeous, typographic designs and pretty pattern are well represented in the collection, which also features a nice dose of shimmery, foil stamped goodness.

East Meets West Letterpress Wedding Invitations

It was crush at first sight when I spotted this beautiful letterpress wedding invitation package over at FPO recently. The gorgeous, gray and white suite was inspired by the Chinese character, 王,which stands for both the bride and groom’s last names, and the design is a visual blend of the couple’s “eastern descent and upbringing” and their westernized lifestyle.

The Chinese character was used to create the pattern on the front of the wedding invitation card and sets a modern, east-meets-west tone, inspiring complimentary patterns featured throughout the suite. A whimsical, script typeface adds a touch of playfulness here and there and is a nice compliment to the straightforward, sans-serif face featured throughout the suite. Elegant, Moroccan-Inspired Wedding Invitations

Today’s invitation crush is a truly international affair, with design by Rio de Janeiro, Brazil-based design studio, Niramekko, and gorgeous, Moroccan-inspired patterns, which reflect the bride’s family heritage. This custom wedding suite also features beautiful typography and a refined color palette of warm taupe and rich red, with a great pop of teal coming in the form of super cool printed edges. Coordinating mini invitations (for the reception) also came with the suite, providing a touch of whimsy to this upscale, modern wedding suite.
