Em’s Purple Crayon-Themed Birthday Party Invites

Purple Crayon Themed Birthday Party Invites

Today’s invitation crush comes to us from Julie of Duet Letterpress, who designed these darling 2nd birthday party invites for her daughter, Emily. Em loves to color and read, and one of her favorite books just happens to be Harold and the Purple Crayon, which was the inspiration behind these adorable letterpress invitations.

These custom invitations came packaged in little kraft boxes with custom, wraparound mailing labels, and purple “love” stamps were the perfect finishing touch. Inside, wrapped in orchid and lilac twine, were the beet purple and soft, pinkish purple birthday invites and a washi tape-sealed envelope that contained two purple crayons, just what guests would need for a party that included plenty of coloring! A super sweet photo of Em in her second birthday party attire was clipped to the purple package, which was tucked into the purple crinkle paper-filled kraft box.

See some of the purple-hued highlights from Em’s 2nd birthday celebration over on the Duet Letterpress blog. Hint : the cake matches the invitations. Cuteness!

Tacky Christmas Sweater Party Invites

I have one. You have one. Pretty much any of us who celebrate Christmas have at least one totally tacky Christmas sweater tucked away in the deep recesses of our closets. Thank goodness for tacky sweater parties, which offer us the chance to break out these fashion atrocities and possibly win prizes for having the tackiest holiday sweater of all.

Rachael Schendel of tea + punch thought that this unique celebration deserved its own retro-style invitation, and so she created a deceptively stylish Not-too-Tacky Christmas Sweater party invitation that’s sure to lure all of your friends to your tacky sweater-celebrating shindig. The invite is available in a number of holiday hues, and you can purchase the invite as a printable PDF, or tea + punch can handle the printing for you.

Stitched Watercolor Birthday Party Invites

Stitched Watercolor Birthday Party Invites

It was crush at first sight when I spotted these lovely, custom 4th birthday party invites over on Pinterest recently. The fun and colorful watercolor invitations were designed by Danyelle of Dandee Designs for Audrey, who also helped out by hand painting over the “Let’s Dance” type on the invites to create a unique spectrum of pinks, yellows, and oranges on each individual invite. Sewn, yellow details help break up the text and add an air of whimsy to this wonderfully original design.

Carnival-Themed 2nd Birthday Invites

Illustrated Carnival 2nd Birthday Invites

Omigosh, how awesome are these 2nd birthday party invites? Totally awesome is right! The fantastic, illustrated party invitations were created by Cassie from Twittering Bird for her son, Avery’s, big day. The fair/carnival-themed illustrations were inspired by the children’s storybook, The Animal Fair, and the hand cut, tri-fold invites open to reveal a portrait of Avery playing the drums alongside his favorite pal, Mila the cat. So sweet!

Vintage Carnival Birthday Party Invitations

Cassie plans on illustrating a portrait of Avery every year, incorporating his growth and current interests and tastes into his birthday invites (check out Avery’s first birthday invitations here), and I can’t wait to see what she creates next year!
