Minted Wedding Invitations 2014 : Art Deco-ish

I’m wrapping up my picks from Minted’s 2014 wedding invitation collection with my favorite Art Deco-inspired designs. I am completely enamored with Art Deco design, and these invites blend Deco’s trademark bursts, flourishes, and patterns with a modern aesthetic that’s totally crushtastic. This collection also includes one of the hottest color combos going on right now : blush pink // black // gold // warm white. Love it!

Elegant Black + White Woodland Wreath Wedding Invitations

Elegant Black + White Woodland Wreath Wedding Invitations | Smitten on Paper

Smitten on Paper has recently been showcasing their beautiful, new wedding invitation designs, and the elegant Woodland Wreath suite instantly caught my eye. You can customize the colors to coordinate with your wedding, but I have to say that I’m really into the classic (and totally hot right now) black and white palette shown here, paired with the minimalist modern dot envelope liner and line patterned backer, and the swashy and modern calligraphy script, which gives the design an organic edge.

Mike + Jen’s Music-Themed Rehearsal Dinner Invitations

Music-Themed Rehearsal Dinner Invitations | Anne Kostecki

I know more than a few musically inclined couples who would be head over heels for these modern, music-themed rehearsal dinner invitations by Anne Kostecki. The ivory, white, and cream color palette is a timeless classic and elegant, ornamental elements pair with modern typography for a look that’s chic, stylish, and so very melodic.

Anne shares details about this lovely project:

My husband’s aunt contacted me about designing a special rehearsal dinner invitation for them. She was designing the event to mirror their wedding colors, which were black, white, and ivory. She also wanted the invitation to reflect the couple’s love of music and all things vintage, as well as the groom’s career in music. I was inspired by early classical sheet music and scrolls and decided to back the invitation with sheet music. The front of the card features minimal, delicate ornaments and a textured font meant to resemble an inked letterpress look. She loved the invitations and actually used the extra prints to decorate the rehearsal dinner venue (the sheet music backs also functioned as the table assignment display decor).

The invitations were digitally printed on Cougar White 80# paper.

Star & Constellation Wedding Invitation Ideas

If you often find yourself gazing up at the night sky in wonder, then the celestial trend in invitations and stationery may be just the thing for your upcoming wedding celebration. This theme plays very well with both foil stamping and the confetti look and often features shimmery silver metallics and bright whites against a backdrop of rich, dark hues like midnight blue and black for looks that range in style from ultra elegant to playful. I hope that you’ll get a little twinkle in your eye when you check out this collection of wonderful star and constellation-themed wedding invite ideas:

Nate’s Black + Gold Bar Mitzvah Invitations

I’m taking a little break from the holiday party invitations today because, holy Bar Mitzvah invitation crush, Batman! These custom, black and gold Bar Mitzvah invites by Lion in the Sun are pretty darn incredible, no? The tall, dark, and handsome color palette (love!) is the perfect compliment to the sleek, modern patterns featured in the suite, as well as the strong, Gothic script featured on the main invitation card. Goodness, this is a great-looking invite.

Alan + Megan’s Elegant Black & White Wedding Invitations

Elegant Black White Letterpress Wedding Invitations

Today I’m completely crushing on these elegant, modern black and white letterpress wedding invitations by Fourth Year Studio for Alan and Megan’s July celebration. The classic elegance of a black and white color palette is enhanced by wonderful textural details like blind debossing (swoon), a tulle wrap, and a gauzy, vellum overlay.

Dianna from Fourth Year Studio shares about this beautiful letterpress suite:

Megan and Alan are two talented young architects, and it was no surprise that they thoughtfully perfected every detail of their wedding. Their event was elegant, clean, and beautiful – modern with traditional undertones. The palette is simple with black and white with layers of complimentary textures.

After receiving an addressed calligraphy envelope with custom postage, the guest will pull out a package wrapped in tulle. As the tulle is unwrapped a vellum overlay is removed to offer a reveal of Megan and Alan’s names blind pressed with a deep relief into 220lb crane lettra cotton stock. A series of pressed bars accentuate the black text to add another layer of texture. A map of the wedding location illustrates a blind pressed river with the venues located. The final piece of the set is the rsvp pocket and reply card. It was important to house the smaller rsvp card and envelope without losing the feel and proportion of the set.
