Sometimes, a celebration calls for an invitation that’s a bit more informal – a garden party with close friends, a rockin’ adult birthday party, a neighborhood open house – and these are occasions when a fill-in invitation is a perfect fit. Em’s Purple Crayon-Themed Birthday Party Invites

Today’s invitation crush comes to us from Julie of Duet Letterpress, who designed these darling 2nd birthday party invites for her daughter, Emily. Em loves to color and read, and one of her favorite books just happens to be Harold and the Purple Crayon, which was the inspiration behind these adorable letterpress invitations.

These custom invitations came packaged in little kraft boxes with custom, wraparound mailing labels, and purple “love” stamps were the perfect finishing touch. Inside, wrapped in orchid and lilac twine, were the beet purple and soft, pinkish purple birthday invites and a washi tape-sealed envelope that contained two purple crayons, just what guests would need for a party that included plenty of coloring! A super sweet photo of Em in her second birthday party attire was clipped to the purple package, which was tucked into the purple crinkle paper-filled kraft box.

Kids Party Invitations from Hello! Lucky

Wowee, Hello! Lucky is on a roll with the all of the fantastic invitations that they’ve released this year. First, there were new additions to the destination wedding line (a collaboration with Lab Partners), gorgeous new wedding invitation collections with Susy Jack* and Jacqui Lee and, most recently, a bunch of cute new kids party invitations. Carnival-Themed 2nd Birthday Invites

Omigosh, how awesome are these 2nd birthday party invites? Totally awesome is right! The fantastic, illustrated party invitations were created by Cassie from Twittering Bird for her son, Avery’s, big day. The fair/carnival-themed illustrations were inspired by the children’s storybook, The Animal Fair, and the hand cut, tri-fold invites open to reveal a portrait of Avery playing the drums alongside his favorite pal, Mila the cat. So sweet!

Cassie plans on illustrating a portrait of Avery every year, incorporating his growth and current interests and tastes into his birthday invites (check out Avery’s first birthday invitations here), and I can’t wait to see what she creates next year!

Lily Jane Fill-In Party Invites

Beer-Themed 30th Birthday Party Invitations

I know that guys aren’t generally prone to swooning, but there may very well be some swooning going on if a beer-loving dude had invitations like these for his 30th birthday party. Abigail Luby from Chips + Salsa Design Studio designed these awesome red, white, and blue (with a little wood, too) invites for her husband’s beer tasting-themed 30th birthday party, and I can only imagine how happy he was 1) to have a beer tasting birthday party, and 2) to have these super cool invitations to go along with said beer tasting birthday party.

Here’s what Abigail had to say about these fun birthday invites:

The main invitation is printed double-sided on sycamore wood with a custom designed beer label on the front and party details on the back. While we now live in Texas, my husband is originally from New York, so I incorporated the “Imported from New York” text, as well as “Bills Backyard Brewing Co.” because he is a huge Buffalo Bills fan, and the party is being held at our home. All other paper pieces, including the day of the party banners and decor, share the same feel and theme.

Hot Pink 40th Birthday Party Invitations

I featured these gorgeous, hot pink 40th birthday party invitations by Margot Madison for her upcoming birthday over on Paper Crave last week, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t share these lovelies over here, too. This is one of the most vibrant 40th birthday invites that I’ve seen, and I think that this design speaks to what a fun, spirit-filled person Margot must be. Mmm, blind debossed mandalas and hot pink envelopes with gorgeous patterned envelope liners coming your way!

I Heart New York Birthday Party Invites

If you love New York, or if you just love super cute and clever first birthday invitations, then you have to have a look at these fun, New York Times-themed 1st birthday invites that the gals at One Charming Party designed as part of a whole New York-themed shindig for Jack’s big day. The envelope liners were made from the Sunday funnies (Garfield and Peanuts!), which add a whole new level of clever to these sweet invites.
