Mid-Century Modern Typographic Wedding Invitations
Jaw, meet floor. When I spot a detail like this monogram, created using a feather-like variation of an ultra cool font like Sessions by John Skelton, I know that I’m about to be amazed, and that’s exactly what happened as I drooled over the images of this mid-century style letterpress wedding invitation suite designed by Drew Hodgson for his wedding in Palm Springs, CA and printed by the always awesome Studio on Fire.
The wedding will be held at a mid-century hotel in Palm Springs, and the playful, modular shapes of the Sessions font are the perfect choice to compliment the venue. The invitation is actually a folder enclosure that opens to reveal wedding details on the flap, adding to the fun, playful tone.
Details like the wonderfully colorful bursts, letterpress monogrammed envelopes, and illustrated hummingbird and swirly cloud bands really make this wedding invitation suite so special.
You can see more images from this amazing mid-century modern suite and read more about the techniques and materials used to create the pieces over at the Studio on Fire blog.
