I just love it when talented graphic designers design their own wedding invitations … or any other type of personal invitations, for that matter. I spotted this wedding invitation suite by Seattle based graphic design firm, Urban Influence, over at Behance recently, and it was crush at first sight. What isn’t fabulous about these invites? This is truly one of the most clever wedding invitations that I’ve seen lately — the brown paper package tied up with twine presentation with a custom hang tag, the use of the oh so fabulous Gmund Savanna paper, the custom map, merit badge ids of the bride and groom, various awesome emblems and stamps, and, of course, the invitation itself, which is designed to look like a vintage guidebook and features a reference guide for tying the knot, a wedding day survival guide, and preparedness tips — every detail is fantastic.

Circus Themed 1st Birthday Party Invitations

Circus themes are white hot these days, and I’m completely taken with these utterly sweet, circus-themed first birthday party invitations that Tara Lee designed for her niece’s first birthday party. The birthday girl’s name and a stylish number “1” take center stage in this clever design, and I’m loving the blue and purple palette. Tara combined inkjet printing and letterpress to create these delightful invites.

Whimsical Wedding Invitations by Oh My Deer

It was crush at first sight when I spotted these lovely wedding invitations by Chelsea Petaja of Oh My Deer for Leah + Jon over at Once Wed. The hand lettering is simply gorgeous and, along with the hand drawn banner details and illustrated wedding map, gives this custom invite suite such a fun, whimsical feel. I’m also really digging the palette of teal, green, and soft orange.

Alia Designs Wedding Invitations

Alia Designs creates some of the most insanely luxe wedding invitations that I think I’ve ever seen. The invitations above? Inspiration was taken from a French Polynesian locale where guest bungalows have glass floors that allow a clear view of the sea below, and the invitations are actually embedded with sand, starfish, and shells. Talk about a memorable invitation!

Crimson + Silver Letterpress Wedding Invitations

These crimson and silver letterpress wedding invitations by Bellz & Whistlez really make a statement, and that statement is, “hey, we are awesome invitations!” The custom wedding invites were created for Alyssa Summey, a production manager/wedding coordinator at 7 Degrees in Laguna Beach, CA and David, her husband-to-be to coordinate with their chic, lavish reception plans.

I love the metallic silver and crimson palette, as well as the key and monogram tag details, personalized hot wax seals, and wraparound return address labels. The invite and RSVP cards themselves are absolutely stunning, featuring an ornate, wrought iron-like letterpressed pattern, which is echoed in the wax seal embellished belly bands.

Heartthrob Letterpress Wedding Invitations

Scarlet red and aqua blue work so well together, and they’re the perfect colors for these whimsical, modern letterpress invitations from Aerialist Press. The story behind this, the Heartthrob Suite, is a great one, too.

This suite started out as a custom, couture order for Aerialist clients, Rachael and Christopher, for their July wedding. Rachael chose a modern, sans-serif font (Quicksand) for the main type, and she wasn’t afraid to mix it up with a retro-ish script font to add a bit of whimsy to the save the dates. The heart/venn diagram motif makes these invites all that much more playful and sweet. Aerialist liked the Heartthrob design so much that it’s now a part of their house line. Yay for great, modern design-minded clients!

Their floral themed invitations are letterpress printed on 100% cotton paper from Crane using soy-based inks and, if the wonderfully tactile letterpress invitations weren’t enough of a delight for the senses, many of Eden’s invitations also include real pressed flowers as part of the design. Completely luxe.

Woodland Themed Wedding Invitations

These custom woodland themed wedding invitations by Paisley Quill are both beautiful and fun! The upscale pink and black palette lends a a bit of old Hollywood flair (as do the Katharine Hepburn stamps on the envelopes), and the autumnal silhouettes of acorns, leaves, squirrels, and deer bring a whimsical woodland feel, perfect for a fall wedding.

Molly from Paisley Quill created this invitation suite for her brother-in-law and soon to be sister-in-law, who wanted a design that would be woodland without being too rustic, and she did a fantastic job in creating a suite that strikes that balance. I also love that Molly got creative with the invitation itself, and instead of going with a pocket fold, she turned the invitation into a booklet that included details about how the couple met, their interests, and even their dog! The booklet features a tear out RSVP at the back, too, which is both clever and design smart.
