Handmade 40th Anniversary Invitations

While I was checking out the beautifully peachy letterpress birth announcements at Twig & Thistle, I spotted these rockin’ 40th anniversary invitations that Chelsea from Frolic created for her parents’ anniversary this year. She color copied a photo of them from the ’70s to use as the main image, stenciled a 40 on the image, printed the text on the back, and added a lovely little heart stamp. So sweet!

One of my favorite details is the mix and match calico fabric envelope liners. What wonderful patterns, and the colors compliment the invites perfectly.

Peachy Letterpress Birth Announcements

These custom letterpress birth announcements are so incredibly sweet, and I love that Kathleen from Twig & Thistle, who designed and printed these for her brother and sister-in-law, used a peachy papaya color for the ink and envelopes. Such a lovely, modern design, and how clever that she attached the photos with foam mounting tape to add depth!

I’m crushing so hard on Smokeproof Press’ portfolio of beautiful letterpress save the dates and wedding invitations that I think that I might implode. Seriously, their Flickr stream is a treasure of gorgeous custom work. I love that so many of their designs evoke vintage ephemera, which I absolutely cannot get enough of. Here are just a few of my favorite wedding invites and save the date cards.

Catherine + Ryan’s Letterpress Save the Date Cards – love all of the vintage style graphic ornaments, and the color palette is fantastic.

Emily + John’s Letterpress Wedding Invites – Humina, humina … gorgeous seal graphics, and the typography on the envelope is stunning!

More gorgeous typography and irresistible blind debossing on these beautiful wedding invitations and reply cards for Jessica + Christopher.

I love how all of the pieces in this vintage ephemera inspired wedding suite tie together, and the custom letterpress chipboard CD envelopes are awesome!

Swoon .. the color palette and style of this letterpress save the date are perfection.

An oh so clever way to present a save the date!

Camp Bachelorette Custom Invitations

Well, hello there, lovely invitations! Remember the awesome weekend getaway bachelorette party invites by Benign Objects that I featured a little while back? The retro cool, ready to order postcard invites were based on a custom client project, and these lovelies were the result of said custom client project. Pretty freakin’ great, I say!

The tri-fold invitations feature woodsy illustrations in a pink palette, and I absolutely love the use of Gmund Savanna paper (swoon) and the handmade button and string invitation closures. What fun and unique invites!

Children’s Party Invitations by Rifle Paper Co.

I am utterly and completely crushing on all of these wonderfully adorable children’s party invitations from Rifle Paper Co. Anna Bond’s fun and whimsical illustrations are absolutely perfect for the invitations, which have themes ranging from detective/spy to circus to cowboy. Each design is available with fill-in lines or as an imprintable that you can run through your printer. These invites are just so much fun that I can’t help but smile when I look at them.

Elegant Letterpress Moving Announcements

These custom letterpress moving announcements by Wiley Valentine have got to be the most elegant moving announcements that I’ve ever seen! The custom design is based on the Youthful Sophisticate design from their Soirée collection, and the announcement was made for The Write Invite in Dallax, Texas, one of Wiley Valentine’s retailers. I absolutely love the palette of midnight blue and beet, and the beet backer adds wonderful depth and contrast. Matching letterpressed envelopes are the icing on the cake.

Letterpress + Chiyogami Wedding Invitations

I’m loving these ultra elegant wedding invitations from Campbell Raw Press, which feature beautiful letterpress details and Japanese silkscreened paper (aka, chiyogami or yuzen) accents. The papers provide a wonderful pop of color that balances perfectly with the sophisticated letterpress pieces. The invitations are available in three styles: Fitzgerald, Collins, and Strand, with a choice of four chiyogami designs within each suite.

Custom Wedding Invitations by Dapper Paper

I have a severe weakness for yellow and grey color palettes right now, and that’s what initially caught my eye about these beautiful custom wedding invitations by Dapper Paper, which were originally created for a Bilbo Baggins’ inspired wedding that was featured back in June on Ruffled. You can check out more photos from the wedding on Ruffled, but over here it’s all about me crushing on these grey and yellow lovelies, which have a wonderfully organic, natural feel. I love the hand drawn banner graphic and the earthy bouquet that tie together all of the pieces in the suite.

Unique Burlap Cameo Wedding Invitations

Did you hear that? The sound of my jaw hitting the floor as soon as I spotted these oh so unique wedding invitations over at Hi-Fi Weddings? Yeah, they rock, don’t they? These beauties were created by photographer Jodi Miller and her husband-to-be for their own wedding, and I can’t get over how stunning the combination of burlap and cameos is. Who knew that burlap could look so chic?

The couple created these custom invitations completely from scratch, and the handmade feel and elements that they used echo the tone and theme of their upcoming wedding. The lovely cameo accents were purchased from Etsy seller PoppyLovesParis, and envelopes from Paper Source were altered to become insert pockets, which held the invitations, RSVP cards, direction maps, and a DVD with a super cool stop-motion video invitation that the couple created themselves.
