Navy + Silver Passport Bar Mitzvah Invitations

I’ve been seeing a lot of fun Bar and Bat Mitzvah invites lately, including these creative cruise-themed passport Bar Mitzvah invitations by Custom Paper Works. The navy blue and silver foil stamped accents work so well together, and all of the details are so much fun. I really like the interior destination stamps featuring Lane’s favorite places, and he is too cute in his captain’s hat in the “passport” photo.

Polar Pop-Up Baby Shower Invitations

Polar Pop-Up Baby Shower Invitations

These crafty, handmade paper pop-up baby shower invitations by photographer, Edyta Szyszlo, are absolutely perfect for a February baby shower in Chicago. Edyta brilliantly transformed a 3d paper party decoration into the pop-up portion of the invitation, evoking visions of snowflakes and snowy winter days (though I’m sure one doesn’t need to imagine snow in Chicago in February, especially this year), and I’m totally crushing on the fantastic color palette of gravel gray and cherry red, soft teal, and yellow. Head over to Edyta’s blog to see even more of these fantastic invitations, including pop-up action shots!

Ashley + Jordan’s Burgundy Monogram Wedding Invitations

I’m completely crushing on this stunning burgundy letterpress wedding invitation suite, created by Leslie Vega for Ashley and Jordan’s November wedding. One of my favorite elements is the monogram that appears throughout the suite, tying each piece together to create a classically beautiful wedding suite.

Paper Source 2011 Wedding Invitation Collection

Apologies for the less than great scans, but I received the latest Paper Source catalog last week and am very excited about their 2011 wedding invitation collection, which was featured in the new catalog. The new invites are grouped into three different styles: Borders, Textures, and Art & Type, and I love that several of the new designs feature embossing. The laser cut Scallops invites (top left in the lower right image below, with the scarlet red envelope liner) have to be one of my favorites from the entire collection.

Jenna & Simon’s Modern Letterpress Wedding Invites

Modern Letterpress Wedding Invitations

Jenna and Simon’s custom pink & green letterpress wedding invites are so much fun! As soon as I got a gander at them over at FPO, I knew that I had to share them over here.

Jenna Simon Letterpress Wedding Invitations

Jenna (the American bride) and Simon (the Australian groom) were getting married twice, on two continents and, of course, on two separate dates. The exception to the “two” rule was the wedding invitations, which they sent to all invited guests, no matter which ceremony they would be attending. And what an invitation suite this is!

The hot pink and green inks (found vintage inks, no less)  make these invites hard to miss, and why would you ever want to miss such letterpress loveliness? Couple the vivid color palette with modern typography, bold patterned RSVP sleeves (love!), and cute illustrations of a wren (Jenna’s middle name) and a wombat (a quintessentially Australian counterpoint), and the result is an unforgettable letterpress suite filled with warmth and fun.

Hand-Illustrated Calligraphy Invitations

Hand-Illustrated Calligraphy Bridal Luncheon Invitations

Last week ended on a high note, in part because I spotted these gorgeous, hand-illustrated and calligraphed bridal luncheon invitations by Holly Hollon at Design*Sponge. The illustrations flow together seamlessly with the calligraphy, and the invitations were watercolored by hand, creating a result that’s organic, filled with energy, and so, so pretty.

Retro BBQ Rehearsal Dinner Invitations

These retro-inspired BBQ rehearsal dinner invitations by Lion in the Sun are smokin’! The fab typography and great colors (lots of red!) give off such a fun, warm vibe, perfect for Molly and Josh’s casual pre-wedding dinner. I just love the worn look of the type and the “Jeans & Spurs Welcome” message at the bottom of this super cool invite.

Jennifer + Paul’s Majolica Blue Floral Invitations

Majolica Blue Floral Wedding Invitations

These beautiful blue – majolica blue, to be specific – floral wedding invitations by Sweet Peach Paper have me in full swoon. Jennifer, the bride and designer behind Sweet Peach Paper, created this beautiful blue and white wedding suite for her own wedding, and her goal was to design something that was both elegant and casual, keeping with the tone of the wedding itself. The result is sophisticated, featuring elegant script and floral illustrations, with a touch of rustic casual brought in via kraft paper envelopes and raffia.
