Linda & John’s Western Style Wedding Invites

I’m totally crushing on these western style letterpress wedding invitations that Carolyn Sewell designed for her friends, Linda and John, who are being married in an old Texas chapel later this month. The typography on these invites is fantastic, which comes as no surprise because Carolyn has much amazing hand-lettering and typographical work under her belt. I’m digging the deep, mossy green and chocolate brown color palette, too.

Balsa Wood Airplane Save the Dates

Balsa Wood Plane Save the Date

Now this is one unique save the date! Kristi Delfino of Luna and Chloe came up with this inventive save the date concept after having a chat with a friend about destination weddings. She took her inspiration from toy balsa wood airplanes and created super fun, custom stamped airplane save the dates (these would be great invitations, too) that come ready to assemble in their own custom “air mail” envelopes. Invited guests would have so much fun with these!

Check out many more details and learn how you can make your own airplane save the dates over at Celebrations at Home.

Olivia + Adam’s Lovely Lime Green Invitations

Lime Green Wedding Invitations

I’m heading into the weekend on a bright note with these electric lime green wedding invitations, design by Skylar Hartman for Olivia and Adam’s big day. The color sets such a festive tone, and hand drawn banner and graphic elements contrast with a stately serif font for a look that’s both refined and fun. Yeah, lime green!

Plantable Wedding Invitations

Botanical PaperWorks recently featured a variety of their plantable wedding invitation designs as part of the “A Week of Wedding Colors” series on their site, and I wanted to share some peeks at the invites over here because I’m a big fan of plantable paper. The texture is amazing, the paper is eco-friendly, and the speckles that dot the paper are actually seeds, so the whole invitation can be planted to produce a lovely bouquet of wildflowers.

Botanical PaperWorks also carries plantable paper confetti and favors, so you can create an entire suite of plantable goodies!

Andrew + Alysha’s Mid-Century Modern Birdcage Invitations

Red + Gray Letterpress Wedding Invitations

Pinterest is such a great resource for visual inspiration, and I love it even more when I come across a pin that helps me discover a fabulous invitation design, like these mid-century modern letterpress wedding invitations by Seth Nickerson (printed by Mama’s Sauce), who created  the suite for his brother and his fiancée as a wedding gift. Ah, the gift of great design.

Andrew + Alysha's Mid-Century Modern Invitations

This oh so sweet suite has fantastic mid-century modern elements – banners, typography, illustrations – and features two birdcages and cute birdies which symbolize the couple coming together in marriage. The invitations were sent in super cool homemade fabric envelopes, too!

Letterpress Matchbook Invitations for a Summer Wedding

Orange White Letterpress Wedding Invitations

Last month, Martha Stewart Weddings held a giveaway for a custom letterpress wedding invitation suite by the amazing Studio on Fire, and the lucky winners were Juan and Irma, whose Night of San Juan wedding inspired this wonderfully unique matchbook invitation suite.

Orange and White Matchbook Wedding Invitations

The Night of San Juan is a Spanish festival which coincides with the summer solstice and is celebrated with beach parties and bonfires, and the orange and white palette – pre-determinded as a part of the giveaway and inspired by the colors of the Martha Stewart Weddings Winter 2011 issue – was a perfect match (no pun intended) for Juan and Irma’s festive Madrid fete.

I love the letterpress printed sun, moon, and star details that carry throughout the pieces in the suite and symbolize the arrival of the summer solstice, and the presentation of the event details in matchbook style is so charming and fun for this festive, informal celebration.

Art Nouveau by the Sea Wedding Invitations

French Art Nouveau Letterpress Invitations

Be still, my beating heart. I’m in invitation heaven, thanks to Molly from Paisley Quill and this stunning letterpress invitation suite that she created for a wedding by the sea in Cannes, France. The soft aqua blue and wave-like, Art Nouveau style swirls were inspired by the wedding’s seaside location, and the black elements provide a wonderful contrast and further the seaside Art Nouveau feel.

Art Nouveau Booklet Invitations

Because guests from all over the world are expected, Molly created a coordinating booklet with all of the information that they’ll need for the French affair, including travel options, details about hotels, and things to do while they’re in Cannes. The letterpress printed booklet cover echoes the lovely swirl elements found on the wedding invitation, and it’s tied with a variegated cord (also used to wrap the entire suite together) in shades of blues, greens, and aqua. What a lovely way to, both literally and figuratively, tie everything together.

Teal Blue + Gray Art Nouveau Save the Dates

Letterpress Art Nouveau Save the Date

Wow, have a gander at this incredible letterpress save the date card by Norman’s Printery. The lovely Art Nouveau-inspired design was letterpress printed with gorgeous deep teal and light gray inks on a luxurious German paper called Hahnemuhle Copperplate Bright White, which has such a luscious texture. Ah, absolutely swoon-worthy.

Black + Teal Blue Damask Wedding Invitations

Black and Teal Letterpress Damask Wedding Invitations

These damask letterpress wedding invitations by Dingbat Press for Jessica and Erik’s San Juan wedding are absolutely stunning. This suite has such an elegant, Old World feel, and I love the black and teal blue palette and the way that the damask pattern is used throughout the suite as a background (love the soft teal pattern on the main invitation card), a design element, and an emblem. The invitations also feature coordinating teal edge painting, an extra special touch for these ultra upscale invitations.
